The BPP-420L offers a terminal-style serial interface with these advanced features:
- 2400/9600 baud serial input with 64-byte buffer
- High-contrast, supertwist LCD screen
- Serially controlled LED backlight
- Output for a piezo buzzer that responds to the ASCII bell character
- Large-character mode automatically generates 4-line-tall symbols (0-9 and A-Z)
- Automatic right-alignment features for easy spreadsheet-style formatting of frequently updated data fields
