4x20 Serial LCD with Terminal Features, Big-character Mode, Inverse Color Backlight | | |
BPP-420VY and BPP-420VR are identical in most respects to our standard BPP-420L. What makes these displays different is their inverse-mode LCD (light pixels on a dark background) and choice of backlight colors (yellow for BPP-420VY and red for BPP-420VR).
Features shared with BPP-420L:
- 2400/9600 baud serial input with 64-byte buffer
- Output for a piezo buzzer that responds to the ASCII bell character
- Large-character mode automatically generates 4-line-tall symbols (0-9 and A-Z)
- Automatic right-alignment features for easy spreadsheet-style formatting of frequently updated data fields
Differences from BPP-420L:
- Inverse LCD prints light pixels on dark background
- Backlight wired ON (serial ON command increases brightness)
- Higher current draw for backlight (required for inverse mode LCD)
- Slight differences in non-critical physical dimensions (see below)
