- App Notes and Examples for Serial LCDs
- This page contains an index of application notes, program examples, and tips for users of our serial displays. Besides the normal program examples, the page contains links to info on LCD mounting, using Hyperterminal, locating inexpensive accessories, etc.
- Serial Send Tool for Windows 95/98/NT (ZIP file; )
- This utility program lets you send data through the serial port of your Windows PC. Unlike terminal programs, it let you embed ASCII values/control characters in the output, so it's great for demonstrating our serial displays. ZIP file includes the program, and brief instructions.
- GUI Graphics Downloader for Windows (ZIP files;)
- Customer Gary Rinsem wrote this remarkable freeware program for downloading graphics and demonstrating our G12864 and G12032 serial graphics displays (part numbers BGX-128L and SGX-120L). Software runs on Windows 3.1, 95, and 98.
- Graphics Downloaders for Windows 95/98 (ZIP file; )
- Our G12864 and G12032 graphics modules come with a DOS-based graphics conversion/downloading utility. This ZIP file contains Windows 95/98 versions of that utility. BMPX32.EXE is a command-line program, just like the DOS version, but updated with 32-bit Windows code. BMP2COM1.EXE is a drag-and-drop version; just drop the .BMP file onto the program icon or shortcut and your picture is automatically downloaded. Com ports 1 through 4 are supported by using different versions of this loader.

- ZIPped archive of the disk that accompanies our SGX-120L package. Includes the example programs, graphics, software, HTML manual, etc.
- Alphanumeric Serial LCDs (ZIP file; )
- This is a ZIPped archive containing example programs and a couple of application notes for our 2x16, 4x20, and 4x40 serial LCDs. Programs are in PBASIC 1 and 2, QBASIC, and First BASIC. App note 1 provides background information on big-number display (including charts showing how to use the same symbol blocks to form big letters, too), tips on controlling LED backlights, and a couple of negative-voltage circuits for users of extended-temperature LCDs. App note 2 goes into considerable detail on LCDs' custom-character capabilities, with examples that produce simple static and animated graphics.
